A Review on Acknowledgments in Scientific Publications

Synopsis
The acknowledgement section is the place where we will express our gratitude to the people or institutions who cannot take part as an author who contributed to the scientific studies during the research period. In this section, the authors would like to thank the funders, supervisors, colleagues who provided technical support, editors and reviewers who evaluated the manuscript. In this study, after a brief introduction about the conditions of being an author, the studies on the acknowledgement sections of the articles have been reviewed. Examples of acknowledgement sub-sections are given and in the last part, examples of acknowledgements expressing different feelings and thoughts are included. When the authors of the articles dealing with the subject of acknowledgements were analysed, it was seen that there were very few studies with Turkish authors and since no Turkish studies were found, this review study was prepared especially in our language.
