Synopsis
The rapid advancements in information technology have led to a more digital and online-oriented daily life. While this trend causes the social being of humans to become increasingly isolated, it also presents certain significant advantages. Perhaps the most significant of these advantages is the ability to eliminate barriers and provide equal, free, and nearly limitless access to resources. In order for humanity to cope with challenges such as increasing population rates, unequal distribution of resources, and the emergence of new learning systems, adopting technology-supported educational management becomes inevitable. Education is an open system formed by the combination of multiple components. Through the functioning of this system, real-time and temporal data emerge from various critical components such as the educator, student, environment, course, materials, technology, and many others. Artificial intelligence-supported learning analytics is becoming an effective tool in improving the process and outcomes by making sense of the data obtained from educational processes and stakeholders. This tool facilitates the measurement, analysis, evaluation, and consequently, the management of learning processes in which many factors and parameters play a role. Furthermore, it contributes to the development of personalized and adaptive learning environments. Learning analytics encompasses the stages of collecting, measuring, classifying, evaluating, and reporting data emerging from the elements of learning. This section focuses on learning analytics, a topic that has been frequently discussed in recent years and contributes to the creation of an adaptable learning environment. It is well known what artificial intelligence, a prominent topic in recent years expected to shape the future, can do with data. Therefore, to fully utilize information technology in learning environments, it becomes inevitable to address topics such as data analytics and artificial intelligence.
