Synopsis

Human beings’ creative ideas and inventions are gradually accelerating instead of slowing down over time. One of the most important factors that enabled humans, who existed on earth approximately 300 thousand years ago, to come this far is not only their high level of intelligence, but also their ability to cooperate in various ways in large communities. This cooperation has fed humanity’s sense of curiosity and constantly opened new areas of discovery for them. Questions such as “Where do I live?”, “What kind of life do other societies live?”, “Who is in my immediate vicinity?” have led people to discover and over time have led to the emergence of wanderlust. Tourism activities have also begun with this wanderlust process. Today, tourism businesses are adapting to developing technology and keeping up with new digital transformations. Technology has now evolved into a different dimension, and artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence-supported digital applications have gained an important place in the tourism sector. In this section, artificial intelligence-supported digital applications used in tourism businesses will be discussed. Consumers and tourism businesses use various AI-supported digital applications in line with different needs. Individuals who are consumers until they travel benefit from different digital applications until they become tourists. Similarly, every business operating in the tourism industry uses AI-supported digital applications specific to their own business area. While some tourism businesses produce both goods and services, some only provide services. For this reason, businesses that produce both goods and services need more diverse applications. Although not all of the applications in question can be included in this section, the AI-supported applications that consumers use most during the travel planning process, reservation transactions and travel are discussed. In addition, artificial intelligence applications that have been widely used in tourism businesses recently are also mentioned. The first part of the section provides information about the AI-supported digital applications used by consumers, and the second part provides information about the AI-supported digital applications used by tourism businesses.
