Synopsis
This study examines the impact of technology on employee experience within the framework of the Society 5.0 concept. Society 5.0 is a vision developed under the leadership of Japan that expresses a human-centred and sustainable social transformation. It is argued that technologies such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence and big data offered by Industry 4.0 should not only provide economic benefits but also aim to increase social welfare. In this context, it is discussed how technology improves the employee experience and supports the emotional, psychological and social well-being of employees by going beyond the increase in productivity in business processes. Employee experience is the sum of emotional and physical processes that encompass the entire career journey of an individual from the start of employment. Technology is being used as a powerful tool to enhance the employee experience; innovations such as artificial intelligence, automation and data analytics contribute to personal development and social dynamics in the workplace while easing the workload of employees. In addition, digitalisation and smart technologies help employees maintain work-life balance by increasing flexible working models and remote working opportunities. Society 5.0 embraces an approach that promotes employee satisfaction and fairness, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This transformation aims to achieve a balance between people and technology. The study analyses the historical development of Society 5.0 and shows how technology not only increases production and productivity, but also supports employee well-being and social sustainability. In particular, AI-enabled human resources applications increase employee engagement and offer personalised experiences in the workplace. A human-centred digital transformation creates a new paradigm in the business world. Technology-enabled work environments increase employee motivation and contribute to a business culture that encourages creative thinking and innovation.
