City in Terms of Disadvantaged Groups
Synopsis
A day by day increasing part of world population live in the city and participation in the opportunities presented by the cities is one of the fundamental rights every individual has. In a world globalizing and struggling with plenty of ecological problems, developing policies that every individual living in the city will feel themselves belonging to the city and happy becomes harder every passing day. Furthermore, policymakers require additional measures in providing equality in opportunity for the disadvantaged groups like disabled, women and children within city administration.
With this book study, it is aimed to enrich the literature regarding the difficulties of living in the city for the disadvantaged groups. The reason for not including the women’s problems in city life is due to the thought of conducting a detailed study on women and the city. Many academics and researchers contributed within this book in which 6 different studies in various departments of social sciences take place. All the scientific and ethical responsibilities put forward in each section belongs to the writer/ writers of the relevant section. It is our greatest wish for our book which contains valuable studies presented by many academics and researchers with great effort, devotion and diligence to contribute the scientific world and light the way for new studies.
