Synopsis

The historical events that are considered to affect the organizations the most; industrial revolution, first and second world war, digitalization and use of information technologies, global epidemic, natural disasters and financial crises. Therefore, newly emerging challenges, crises and opportunities lead to new paradigms or paradigm shifts; It leads to the development of new interpretations and expansions in social and economic life. In this study, the concepts of paradigm and paradigm change are explained, and the effects of paradigm change in management on organizational structures are discussed in a theoretical framework. In addition, the paradigm change affecting organizational structures has been evaluated in the context of classical, neo-classical, modern and post-modern management theories, in relation to the effect of external environmental conditions on the shaping of mechanical-organic organizational structures.
