Synopsis
Athletes, who realize the situation of the referee and the opponent players during the competition and struggle, can contribute to making the competitions more enjoyable by acting logically, even though they can be under intense pressure. Since everyone has a certain level of excitement in sports competitions, the parties must be understanding towards each other and understand each other's feelings. In some events, the focus of the players to win definitively can cause negative behaviors to come to light at those moments. In these cases, the fact that will contribute to the quality of the competition is the empathy of the athletes and their understanding towards each other (Öztürk et al., 2004). In this context, fair play and empathy in sports were tried to be discussed in the current section.
