Synopsis

The art belonging to a nation constitutes the cultural level of that people and the symbols of social life. In Turkish Islamic civilization, book arts have been born and developed within this understanding and have come up to the present day. Among the civilizations that have cost history in the world, one of the nations that have reached the top with Decadent arts is undoubtedly the Turks. The decorative art, which emerged with the Uyghur Turks in Central Asia, has shown many changes over the centuries from the past to the present. The art of illumination, to which artists added their own national tastes, continued its development and reached Anatolia through Iran through the Seljuks. During the Ottoman period, many works with different styles and characteristics were produced in the field of illumination art in a rich culture-art environment. Each period has its own characteristics and has developed within the sphere of influence of the characteristics and practices of the previous period. Writing works decorated with different styles and styles in a wide geography for centuries reflects the art of illumination in the best way.
