Selected Articles in the Field of History -VII
Synopsis
History is a branch of science that allows us to make sense of the present by following the traces of the past. The achievements, struggles and transformations of humanity have taken shape on the stage of history and have formed the cornerstones of today's world. In this context, history is not only a chronological series of events, but also a guide for understanding the identity, cultural heritage and future of societies.
Unlike natural sciences, social sciences are always a living science. History is a field of social sciences that needs to be examined, written and evaluated from various perspectives. While making this analysis, the historian also benefits from other branches of social sciences such as geography, sociology, philosophy, economics, chronology, ethnography, law, philology, anthropology, archaeology and linguistics. For this reason, it is a field that has to work interdisciplinary. In addition, with Atatürk's sentence, "Writing history is as important as making history. If the writer does not remain loyal to the maker, the unchanging truth takes on a nature that will surprise humanity.", the historian is asked to give direction to the future objectively with a broad perspective and multiple perspectives. With this motto, each article in the book provides in-depth analyses of different areas of history, while revealing how the past sheds light on the present.
Selected Articles in History VII is a compilation that aims to provide a look at the discipline of history from different perspectives. Our valuable authors have made significant contributions to the field by evaluating many topics in the field of history from their own perspectives in the light of sources. We hope that this book will appeal to a wide range of readers, from history enthusiasts to academics.
