Synopsis
One of the most important research topics of modern economies is undoubtedly women's employment. Women's participation in the labor force is not only important in terms of gender equality but also one of the dynamics of economic development. Women's participation in the labor force increases the total labor supply. Therefore, the increase in this labor supply also increases productivity. In addition, the inclusion of women in the labor force with their innovative views can also increase competitiveness. Women's participation in the labor force also increases the income level of households. With the increase in income level, an increase in consumption expenditures may occur, which may contribute to economic growth in general.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of female employment on economic growth for G8 countries and Turkey by taking the data for the years 1994-2023. According to the results of panel data analysis, the effect of women's employment on economic growth statistically significant and positive. In addition Women it is stated that the increase in employment rates also increases economic growth It can be done.
