Synopsis

With the development of information technologies, their usage in almost every aspect of life has been steadily increasing. One of the most advanced components of information technology is the “Blockchain” system. The speed, transparency, and security in processing and storing data have facilitated the widespread adoption of blockchain technology across various industries, including finance, healthcare, education, economy, and culture. While blockchain is actively used in the tourism sector, its rate of adoption has been relatively slow. However, given the wide scope of the tourism industry, the adoption of blockchain technology needs to become more widespread. Blockchain technology is a groundbreaking development for centralized distribution networks and operational systems in the tourism sector. This is because blockchain enables tourists to conduct transactions directly with tourism businesses without intermediaries. Meeting consumer demands and expectations more quickly, securely, and transparently is crucial for tourism enterprises and destinations to gain a competitive advantage. Particularly in expanding and sustaining a loyal customer base, the effective use of blockchain technology in areas such as production, sales, and payments is essential.
