Synopsis

The emergence of Industry 4.0 technologies has led to a digital transformation in the tourism industry, just as it has in other sectors. The Tourism 4.0 paradigm, which represents the application of Industry 4.0 dynamics such as the internet of things, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, blockchain, augmented reality, and virtual reality in the tourism sector, involves high-tech-based service production and delivery. However, discussions on humanity's ability to keep up with rapid technological changes and whether these advancements truly benefit society have paved the way for the emergence of the Industry 5.0 paradigm. The Industry 5.0 paradigm advocates for a more socially responsible and human-centered approach in both social and environmental terms. In this regard, the Tourism 5.0 paradigm, which reflects the Industry 5.0 in the tourism sector, presents a new tourism approach where values such as peace, equality, and environmental sustainability are emphasized by placing humans at the center of technology. Tourism 5.0 is an approach based on the principles of making technological tourism systems more human-centered, sustainable, resilient, and accessible.
