Synopsis

Tourism's ability to integrate multiple industries and act as a cross-sector locomotive has led to the rapid expansion of the global tourism industry. However, the traditional form of tourism is slow in communicating tourism information to stakeholders, and it is becoming more difficult to accurately identify tourists' travel preferences and make specific travel plans. This is why the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a turning point in the tourism and travel industry for the fast flow and transmission of data, for tourists to gain information and for businesses to take quick action.  In fact, all digitally-based industries, including interactions between businesses, people, machines and everything else, communicate with the Internet of Things (IoT). This study focuses on the applications/examples of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the tourism sector and its advantages and disadvantages. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine examples and applications related to the use of technology in the sector in the context of the conveniences provided by the Internet of Things technology to the tourism sector.
