As we leave behind the 100th anniversary of our Republic and step into a new century, we are pleased to present 'A 100-Year Panorama of the Turkish Economy II', a work that sheds light on Türkiye's economic history. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's famous quote, "Without economic independence, there can be no real independence," perfectly encapsulates the fundamental motivation behind this book.

The Republic of Türkiye was founded in a historical context shaped by scarcity and adversity, adopting economic independence and development goals as its guiding roadmap. From 1923, the year of its foundation, to 2023, when we celebrate the 100th year of the Republic, profound transformations have taken place in various sectors of the Turkish economy, establishing a structure that has often been resilient in the face of both internal and external economic crises and political tensions.

This work thoroughly examines different areas of the Turkish economy during the first hundred years of the Republic, presenting the lessons drawn from these areas to readers. The book includes academic studies from various perspectives and fields.

While painting a historical panorama of the Turkish economy over the past century, this study aims to offer more than just a historical perspective.
