Synopsis
As a result of pollution of the environment, it seriously affects the balance that exists on earth, especially humans and nature. This effect has destructive consequences in almost all areas of life. Environmental pollution is the event in which the biological and physical activities of all living things change negatively. Toxic metals are at the forefront of the substances that cause environmental pollution. Metals that can harm living beings when they manifest themselves are called toxic metals. The degree of toxicity can vary according to the characteristics of the metal, the structures of living beings, and also according to its density. Toxic metals can be taken into living beings from water and air, as well as during nutrition. Today, toxic metals are at the forefront of the most important causes of environmental pollution. The number of non-toxic metals among metals is greater than the number of toxic ones.
Metals are among the most valuable substances known. Humans have been using them since ancient times. In other words, metals are substances that play a major role in the development of civilizations. Even in our time, people still resort to metals to solve their major problems. For example, in addition to the use of uranium for energy problems, some lead compounds are directly released into the environment as a result of their use as quality enhancers in gasoline. This situation is quite harmful for both living beings and the environment. Metals such as Zinc, Chromium, Lead, Cadmium enter the body in many ways, not only through car exhausts and similar things, but also in foods sold openly on the streets, especially in paint used in cheap toys, in pencils that we frequently use in daily life, cigarettes and similar substances. While the pollution of industrial facilities and technology causes people to catch diseases at an early age, it also brings with it the risk of cancer. Our society should be made aware of metal pollution and the risks of such metals should be revealed in order for our society to raise healthy individuals.
