Synopsis
Artificial intelligence refers to the capacity of computer systems to perform tasks that require human intelligence and plays an important role in many sectors today. These technologies include machine learning, deep learning, rule-based systems, natural language processing and speech recognition. Artificial intelligence applications in health have come to the forefront since the 1970s and are used in diagnosis, treatment, health management, early diagnosis, decision-making, elderly care, health protection, gynecology, obstetrics and education. Artificial intelligence, which continues to develop in the field of education in health, can enable students to be prepared for complex situations with virtual and augmented reality supported applications in the development of personalized learning experiences. In addition, artificial intelligence applications for midwives who provide professional care to the society are used to improve maternal and infant health during pregnancy, birth and postnatal processes. In midwifery education, artificial intelligence has the potential to increase student success, personalize health education and support clinical success, and it is important to integrate artificial intelligence into education. Ethical issues such as data security, algorithmic biases, privacy violations and reduced human interaction are critical issues to be considered in the use of AI in health and education. Therefore, the integration of AI applications into midwifery education and midwifery services offers important opportunities to increase student success and improve the quality of patient care. However, in this process, issues such as data privacy, algorithmic biases and reduced human interaction need to be meticulously addressed.
