Synopsis

Leadership is used to define the managerial process carried out by individuals who influence, inspire and motivate their followers in organizational environments. Leaders who emerge as a result of social conditions direct their followers towards certain goals and objectives with their effectiveness in organizational work areas as well as social areas and their roles and behaviors they assume. Expected leadership development in this direction covers a wide range of actions, programs or efforts aimed at increasing a person's understanding of leadership and confidence in leading others/the organization in general. In this context, the leader conducts further training / education activities for the development and career prospects he/she needs depending on his/her own competencies. Because the leadership quality of an organization has a significant impact on the entire organization, employee participation and the sustainability of the organization can affect many factors, ranging from long-term profitability and innovation. For this reason, the development of leaders and leadership behaviors whose effectiveness is felt in the environments they are in and the training process that results in change is of critical importance for all relevant organizations.

In this study, leadership development processes which also include leader development were examined. However, the scope of the training activities that will provide the leader with the leadership skills that the leader needs for the change he will realize in the areas of responsibility he carries has been evaluated. In addition, as a result of the examination of the studies conducted on leadership development, explanations on what training activities may be aimed at facilitating effective leadership have been included. Besides all this, our study aims to contribute to new studies to be conducted on the subject in the future.
