Synopsis
Rapid technological developments, the effects of globalization and changes in consumer demands have necessitated the transformation of traditional business models. In this context, a new business model called “borderless organizations” stands out in the business literature. Boundaryless organizations stand out with their structures that transcend geographical limitations, are integrated with flexible working arrangements, make effective use of digital technologies and are collaboration-oriented. This model, which is based on a network-based organizational structure instead of traditional hierarchical structures, aims to respond to the complex requirements of today's business world while proposing a more flexible and faster structure in business processes. In this study, borderless organizations are examined at a conceptual level; their working principles and the benefits they offer to businesses are presented in comparison with traditional organization models.
