Synopsis
Logistics villages are areas where multiple modes of transport are integrated, allowing for the transfer, organization, and preparation of incoming goods for transportation, thus providing significant strategic value by centralizing logistics activities within a single region. These logistics villages hold a prominent position in terms of the added value they bring to national economies and cater to the dynamics of modern trade. The establishment of logistics villages in our country began in 2006, and this structuring process has since gained momentum.
This study aims to examine the development process of logistics villages globally and within Turkey, exploring their impacts across various domains, including their contributions to commercial life, the expansion of employment opportunities, and improvements to environmental order. Within this scope, the development of logistics villages in Europe, Asia, and America is reviewed, followed by an assessment of the current state of Turkey's logistics village infrastructure.
