Synopsis
Processing of computerized tomography or micro computed tomography (Micro-CT) scan data of a biological structure and then modeling its three-dimensional model in a digital environment creates unique application areas in many areas. Micro-CT process is a method that provides qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the hard tissues of the tooth. It contributes to the diagnosis of early possible caries lesions by evaluating mineral densities. It has been shown by studies that it provides accurate results in determining the localization and width of caries. Micro-CT allows imaging of both mineralized hard tissues and soft tissues and materials. Its most important advantage is that the samples used are not damaged and the measurements can be repeated.
