Synopsis
The concept of gender has been the subject of many studies in the academic literature, especially in recent years. Factors such as culture, tradition, religion, economy and sociological structure are effective on the formation of gender. Religion is accepted among the factors that determine gender by giving people a mentality. In this framework, the aim of the study is to obtain quantitative information on general research trends and studies by examining the theses written on gender and religion. Between 2007 and 2023, 22 theses published in the Thesis Centre of the Council of Higher Education were the subject of the study. To the best of our knowledge, it is important that it is one of the first studies in terms of examining the subject of gender and religion with bibliometric analysis among the studies in the national literature. In the results of the research, it was determined that the majority of the theses were master's theses (17). While qualitative research method was used in 16 theses, quantitative method was used in three theses and mixed method was used in two theses. While 18 of the 22 theses had a male academic advisor, three theses had a female academic advisor. Four of the researchers who conducted the thesis study were male and 17 of them were female.
