Synopsis

The rapid changes in the digital age have led to radical transformations in education as in every aspect of life.  In particular, online platforms, mobile applications, digital learning materials and virtual classrooms offer students more flexible and personalized learning experience. These new teaching environments allow students to learn across time and space, provide the opportunity to learn independently and offer a diversity that addresses different learning styles in language learning. In addition to language teaching and learning, technology affects teaching literature indirectly. Within this context, the new opportunities offered by technology reshape the pedagogical approaches of language education, make learning-teaching processes interactive, personalized and accessible, and transform learning environments into a medium where learners can have the opportunity to self-assess. This book attempts to answer some important questions such as how educational technologies can be used effectively in language teaching, which digital tools and methods support the learning process, and how language learning processes can be designed more effectively. Furthermore, the impact of these innovations on the literary works and their possible reflections on the field of literature education are also discussed. The chapters of the book examine the opportunities and challenges that digitalization creates in language teaching. The effects of digital tools on teachers and students, the importance of digital literacy, and the preparation and evaluation of digital language teaching materials provide readers with both theoretical and practical information. In addition, current issues such as gamification, online learning communities, and the role of social media platforms in language teaching are also included.
