Happiness Economics: Bibliometric Analysis & Application
Synopsis
The concepts of economic growth and welfare have long been at the center of the quest to improve the quality of life for individuals and societies. However, the realization that mere economic growth and material wealth cannot fully guarantee human happiness has laid the groundwork for the emergence of a new economic paradigm known as happiness economics.
Happiness economics aims to enhance the overall welfare of individuals and societies by integrating data and methodologies from the disciplines of economics and psychology. This field goes beyond traditional economic indicators to prioritize subjective well-being and life satisfaction of individuals.
The primary objective of this book is to comprehensively examine the theoretical foundations, methodological approaches, and practical applications of happiness economics. In this context, the first chapter of the book provides a detailed exploration of the emergence of happiness economics, the measurement methods used in this field, and happiness indicators. The second chapter presents a bibliometric analysis of the extensive literature on happiness economics. The final chapter offers an applied study related to happiness economics.
With a strong belief that research and findings in happiness economics will significantly contribute to the construction of a more sustainable, equitable, and human-centered economic order, I hope that this book will be recognized as a valuable reference in its field
