Synopsis
Sports psychology is a field that examines the psychological aspects of sport and applies psychological principles and techniques to enhance athletes' performance, promote their psychological well-being, and create a healthier atmosphere in sporting environments. This discipline seeks to study and understand the mental processes, emotions, thoughts and behaviors of athletes.
Sport psychology and psychological well-being are two closely related concepts that aim to improve the mental and emotional health of athletes and sport environments. Psychological well-being refers to the positive emotional, social and mental state in an individual's life. This concept includes elements such as happiness, satisfaction, finding meaning, establishing positive relationships and personal development. Exercise is an important component that supports psychological well-being. Regular physical activity can positively affect an individual's mental health. In this context, an individual's level of psychological well-being may also increase. Exercising regularly increases the secretion of happiness hormones such as endorphins and serotonin. These hormones improve positive emotions and general mood, reduce stress and alleviate mental distress.
In this section, which aims to evaluate the effect of regular physical activity and exercise on psychological well-being in the context of sport psychology, it can be concluded that physical activity and exercise, whether performed by individuals, young adults or children, contribute positively to psychological well-being.
