Synopsis
Cultural heritage is an important element that reflects the identity, values and history of humanity from the past to the present. Bearing the traces of various civilizations throughout history, cultural heritage manifests itself in various fields such as architectural structures, works of art, traditional handicrafts, music and dance. While this heritage strengthens people's attachment to their roots, it is also of great importance in terms of preserving and maintaining cultural diversity and social identity.
As it is known, recreation includes activities that people do to utilize their free time, relax, have fun and improve themselves. Activities such as nature walks, visits to museums and historical sites, handicraft workshops, sports events and festivals are included in the structure of recreational activities. In this context, cultural heritage and recreation are considered to be two important concepts that complement each other. In particular, it can be said that the protection and preservation of cultural heritage can be supported by recreational activities to reach wider audiences. Based on all these, in this section, recreational activities are discussed in terms of the protection and dissemination of tangible cultural heritage.
