Synopsis

Today, with advancing technology, increasing competition, and globalization, businesses have realized the need to develop their strategies with care and precision. The main foundations of the strategy include mission and vision elements. Mission and vision elements constitute the main foundations, goals and objectives of the business. Clearly and concisely crafted mission and vision statements have positive effects on employees, inspire them, and unite them under a single purpose. Mission and vision statements of businesses are important concepts in revealing their future goals and plans.

There are very few organizations without mission and vision statements, but upon examination, it is evident that some businesses have statements that are quite similar, while others have unclear and complex expressions. In fact, mission and vision statements must be clear and understandable and must be different from other businesses. It is thought that most businesses do not use their mission and vision statements correctly, and that they are created merely for the sake of having them.

In this context, the aim of the study is to investigate the effects of the tendency to adapt in creating mission and vision on the performance of companies in the carpet sector operating in Gaziantep province. In the research, mission and vision statements will be searched from the websites or catalogs of the companies producing in the carpet sector in Gaziantep, the original ones will be separated from the non-original ones, and then a survey consisting of three variables will be conducted with their senior managers. In the light of this data, the companies that are unique and those that are not unique are subjected to comparative analysis and whether there is a difference in terms of success between them. Their impact on their performance will be examined. In order to be useful for both the employee and the employer, the study aims to shed light on both sides.
