Synopsis
Plants of the genus Trifolium are found in many habitats around the world. The purpose of this study is to determine the anatomical characteristics of the Trifolium medium L. var. medium taxon, which is prevalent in the province of Giresun, and to compare it with other taxons. The plants were collected in 2021 and were detected in a 70% alcohol solution. The anatomical examinations covered the root, stem, petiole and leaf organs, which are the vegetative organs of the plant. The cuts were hand-picked. The measurements were made using NIS Elements Imaging Software 3.00 SP5. Trifolium medium var. medium taxon is distinguished from other taxons by characteristics such as the number of layers of pith-rays in the root structure, the shape of the fibrous groups of the sclerenchyma in the stem structure, the arrangement of the vascular bundle in the petiole, the surface and density of the stoma types in the leaf.
