Recently, developing technology has made a great contribution to its development by introducing new applications in the field of education and offering new studies in different fields. John McCarthy was the first to articulate the concept of artificial intelligence at the Dortmund conference in 1956. With the change, it has shown that it offers new approaches in many areas since the emergence of artificial intelligence technology. Studies in this field have gained greater importance in line with the opportunities offered by changing and developing technology, and artificial intelligence technology, which corresponds to many sectors, has started to be used with the innovations it brings to the field of education. Artificial intelligence is among the technology trends of today. In this context, there has been a need to create a roadmap for researchers and educators on the use of artificial intelligence in education. In this research, basic information about artificial intelligence technologies is given, the importance of artificial intelligence in education is mentioned and usage examples are mentioned. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence in the education sector were mentioned and attention was drawn to future studies in education.
