Synopsis

The main goal in enterprises where ruminant breeding is carried out is to keep efficiency and profit at the maximum level. This can only be achieved by preventing the diseases that occur in the enterprise and minimizing the mortality rate in the diseases that occur. For this purpose, antibiotic applications are frequently used to treat diseases in animals and ensure healthy growth and development. However, antibiotic applications have some advantages as well as some disadvantages. The most important disadvantage of antibiotics is that they cause residues in foods and the environment, thus threatening human health. For this reason, in recent years, emphasis has been placed on preventive medicine practices. The most important point in this regard is vaccination studies. In addition, probiotics are one of the products used in both the treatment and prophylaxis of diseases. Probiotics are feed additives that can be used safely in ruminants. The aim is to regulate the digestive system flora with probiotics, to treat secondary diseases that occur in this system and other systems arising from this system, to stimulate the immune response, to maximize health and efficiency by increasing the digestion of the nutrients taken.
