Synopsis

Humankind is in close association with the nature since the beginning. Since the Paleolithic Age mankind, in several ways, left evidence depicting it’s surroundings to the later generations. The people of the aforesaid era, in the interaction with the nature, probably observed the animals most; hunting them, painting their pictures on their walls, carving their sculptures and taming them… While anthropologists, archaeologists and prehistorians studies the remains of the people that lived before our time, it is zooarchaeologists that studies the remains of the animals. Nif (Olympos) mountain which is located in İzmir, border of the Buca, Kemalpaşa and Torbalı. A study of animal bones unearth from the Nif Dağı excavation is pledge in order to contribute towards a better understanding of the its economy, subsistence, husbandry, butchering activities also its relations with environment and partially Ethnozoology.
