Synopsis
Human continues to witness the effects of the steps and decisions it takes on nature and living life in different ways. Climate change, depletion of natural resources, forest fires, depletion of water resources, social inequalities, imbalances in income distribution are just a few of them. What about the challenges that are not there now, but will be at the centre of our lives in the future? How do we fight them? Or will we be able to fight? As people cause all these difficulties and more to happen, they must also be effective in prevention and take steps to do so. Communities need to be educated to cope with all these challenges and to prevent future ones. Both education and educators have important responsibilities in raising individuals who will have a say in the future of the planet. Teachers should plan lesson designs in which students can directly participate actively in addition to theoretical knowledge in teaching environments at the point of preparing students for daily life and the future. In this section, suggestions are made for teachers to make instructional designs with an interdisciplinary approach by taking into account the social, environmental and economic dimensions of sustainable development.
