Synopsis
This study aims to investigate the entrepreneurship practices of South Korea, focusing on their relationship with economic success. Among the pivotal determinants of East Asia's economic growth and transformation are international competitive advantage, dynamics of state intervention, and the ability to swiftly adapt to rapidly changing market conditions. Specifically, the economic evolution of South Korea is examined, centering on its shift from an agriculture-based societal structure to an industrialized economy since the 1960s, a transformation fundamentally shaped by state policies and strategic investments. This analysis highlights the critical role of state policies supporting entrepreneurship, business strategies, socio-state relations, and educational mechanisms in South Korea's economic transformation.
The progress made by South Korea in the realm of entrepreneurship is particularly noteworthy, as the country has rapidly expanded to become a leading and dynamic member of the global economy. South Korea's technology-driven innovation strategies, interactions with international trade dynamics, educational culture, and entrepreneurially-minded business owners have contributed to its economic achievements.
The study also delves into South Korea's entrepreneurship ecosystem and the factors contributing to its formation. The country's technological superiority plays a pivotal role in entrepreneurship, with local governments and the national government providing support to entrepreneurs through various financial instruments. The increase in venture capital investments and efforts to address funding challenges faced by local entrepreneurs are also prominent themes.
In conclusion, this paper provides an analytical perspective on South Korea's narrative of economic transformation, the impact of state intervention, the conditions for entrepreneurship, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. It elucidates how South Korea emerges as a significant economic force among the rising economic actors of East Asia.
