Synopsis
In today's world, organizations need to attach importance to efficiency in order to survive. Efficient use of both material and human resources without being idle is one of the factors that keep institutions alive. Organizations should aim to achieve efficiency at different levels. From this perspective, efficiency for a business consisting of certain departments should not be calculated only for the whole business. The productivity of departments and even individual employees should be monitored. Organizational researchers have been thinking and doing research on how to increase productivity in organizations since the beginning of the last century. This study addresses productivity in organizations from the employee dimension. More specifically, it will examine how well the job characteristics model, which was created to increase efficiency, can explain employee productivity.
