Transportation is one of the first elements that come to mind regarding tourism, as it cannot be realized without means of transportation. Transportation, which is described as the movement of people and goods from one point to another, it consists of airlines, highways, seaways, railways and pipeline subsystems. Physically, transportation systems consist of two separate elements infrastructure and superstructure. While the infrastructure is of a characteristic that cannot be transported depending on the physical space, the superstructure consists of transportation vehicles. Tourism, which is a movement of changing places, is an activity carried out by means of transportation. Tourism started and grew thanks to the development of the transportation system, and the spread of tourism also stimulated transportation. In this study, first of all, the importance of transportation in tourism was examined, and the relationship between tourism and transportation was mentioned. Then, transportation types in tourism, transportation and sustainability and tourism transportation problems are mentioned respectively. Finally, it has been concluded by giving examples from the world and Turkey on transportation policies in tourism.
