Synopsis

Today, the increasing use of the internet has led to the development of technologies used in connection with the internet as well. Especially with the Covid-19 pandemic period in recent years, the fact that the people carry out many of their daily activities such as shopping, socializing, working, education, and pursuing their hobbies in digital environments has further accelerated this situation. While these developments have enabled businesses that are already present in the digital environment and have investments in this field to grow and develop, they have negatively affected the activities of businesses that are not in the digital environment. The digitalization process in question has also affected the branding activities of businesses and led the importance of digital brand management to increase. Digital branding includes social media, online advertising, content marketing, website, influencer marketing, search engine optimization and other business activities on the internet. Since the target audiences of businesses are in digital environments, businesses should take part in social media or the metaverse universe in order to develop healthy relationships with them and increase their brand value; it has become important for businesses to use advanced technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). In this part of the book, after briefly explaining the concepts of digital marketing and brand management, the subject of digital brand management is examined conceptually, the advantages of digital brand management, studies on this subject in the literature and examples from brands are included. Additionally, suggestions are made for both researchers and brand managers.
