Synopsis

Aromatherapy is the science of "using essential plant-based oils for therapeutic purposes". Essential oils and aromatherapy have been supporting women's health and lifestyles for centuries and are known to have a long history of use. Interest in aromatherapy has increased as women seek safe and effective options for their healthcare. Lavender, a representative of relaxing essential oils, has wide use and popularity in the clinical fields of psychosomatic obstetrics and gynecology. Therapeutic treatments with lavender oil are among the most preferred oils because it reduces labor pain, post-cesarean section pain, postpartum depression and anxiety, reduces dysmenorrhea and relieves menopausal symptoms.
