Synopsis

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of recreational activities on the quality of life of individuals with hearing impairment. For this purpose, causal comparison research method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The population of the study consists of individuals with hearing impairment living in Giresun province. The sample of the research consists of 80 people selected from these participants by simple random sampling method. A data collection tool consisting of two parts was used in the study. The first part of the data collection tool consists of a demographic information form consisting of 11 items, and the second part consists of the Quality of Life Scale. The data obtained from the study were statistically analyzed in IBM-SPSS-21 program. According to the findings obtained from the research, it can be said that the quality of life of individuals with hearing impairment increases as their participation in recreational activities increases. Accordingly, it is thought that directing individuals with hearing impairment to recreational activities will have a positive effect on the quality of life of these individuals.
