Synopsis
This study aims to explore the link between education and the time spent in paid work by married and cohabiting couples in Turkey. By using individual-level data from the time-use surveys, findings support the persistence of gender-based disparities in time-use patterns of married men and women. Educational attainment is a significant factor contributing to increased time in paid work for both men and women. While the number of young children is not a significant factor for men’s time in paid work, it reduces the time women devote to market work.
