Synopsis
One of the important factors affecting the success of individuals in life surrounded by the unknowns brought by constant changes is the level of intolerance to uncertainties. In the business world driven by uncertainties, innovations and changes, it makes it difficult for employees to focus on their duties and fulfill their workplace responsibilities. In this process, the level of intolerance of uncertainty directly affects the success of the employee.
In this context, the aim of this study is to examine in detail the concept of intolerance to uncertainty, which affects individuals' anxiety levels, problem solving processes and correct decision-making strategies in uncertain situations, that is, directs their task performance. In addition, some other concepts that most affect intolerance of uncertainty and are most affected by intolerance of uncertainty will also be mentioned.
In this direction, first of all, the concept and structure of intolerance to uncertainty are discussed in detail, and the anxiety states of intolerance to uncertainty, which are proactive and preventive, are examined. Individuals with a high level of intolerance to uncertainty were mentioned. The concepts of intolerance of ambiguity and intolerance of ambiguity are compared. Afterwards, the concept of anxiety, anxious people and the importance of intolerance to uncertainty in the treatment of anxiety are mentioned. The effect of the level of intolerance to uncertainty on problem solving and decision making processes was examined. Finally, suggestions were made to the managers on the subject.
