Synopsis
As in many disciplines, the use of PLS-SEM is increasing in organizational behavior research. The ability to model complex relationships between latent variables easily with PLS-SEM, the low requirements for data used in the analyses, and the availability of advanced software are some of the reasons for this increase. Researchers may benefit from this analysis technique more if they understand it better and use it more competently. For this reason, it will be beneficial to clearly explain the concepts, application stages, issues related to reporting and possible mistakes in the application of PLS-SEM especially for researchers new to this technique. The purpose of this study is to find out the current status of PLS-SEM use in organizational behavior research in Turkey and to make some suggestions to help improve the use of it. For this purpose, 30 organizational behavior research articles using PLS-SEM obtained from DergiPark database were evaluated. As a result of the analyses, it is found that organizational behavior research using PLS-SEM has increased especially in recent years and SmartPLS is the most frequently used software for analysis. It was seen that the researchers did not give detailed explanation about the sample selection procedures, the sample size and the suitability of the data for the analysis. In most of the studies, it was observed that some standard statistics related to reliability, validity and structural model were reported, but more detailed analyses were not made. In many studies, the use of complex models containing mediating variables have been observed, but other advanced use of PLS-SEM has not been encountered much.
