Synopsis

The Metaverse is a broad term that encompasses communication in virtual reality, augmented reality and virtual world platforms and can radically change the way people interact in the digital world. The Metaverse is a virtual universe that best describes the future time and represents the dizzying development of technology. This concept, which is the appearance of innovation and development in the metaverse in every aspect, is also reflected in our daily lives in sports. In this context, there are two possible interpretations of the relationship between the metaverse and sport: Sport in the metaverse and the impact of the metaverse on sport. The impact of the metaverse on sport is not yet fully understood. However, it is thought that the metaverse has the potential to change and improve the sports industry in many ways. One of them is sports teams. Sports teams and the sponsoring organizations that support them generate various revenue models by placing advertisements for specific products in-game and thus generating huge interactions through online fan acquisition. In addition, the metaverse also contributes to a more realistic and immersive experience for fans as part of sports. Another is that fans can create their own stadiums and teams in the metaverse or watch games with other fans. In the metaverse, fans can set their own rules and regulations or create their own games. The metaverse is thus emerging as a powerful tool to help shape the future of sport.

As technology continues to evolve, more innovative applications of the Metaverse in the world of sport are expected in the coming years. However, the metaverse and the future of sport are still being explored and more research is needed to fully understand the implications and possibilities.
