Synopsis
This research was carried out to determine the acute effect of dynamic warm-up exercises on vertical jump, balance and strength performance in karate players. The sample group of the research was 13.00±1.00 (years), average height 1.61±0.11 (cm), who played active in karate branch for at least two years in the Youth and Sports Services sports club of Bingöl province, A total of 15 male karate players with a body weight of 49.04±13.19 (kg) and a mean BMI of 18.47±3.27 (kg/cm2). In order to warm up, the athletes were given 7 dynamic types of warm-up exercises after 5 minutes of jogging at a light pace. CMJ (Countermovement Jump) test and SJ (Squad Jump) test were applied for vertical jump performance, static and dynamic balance test, back-leg and claw strength measurements were applied to determine balance performance. According to the results of the evaluation, a statistically significant difference was found at the p<0.05 level in the in-group comparisons of the CMJ and SJ values of the basketball players. A statistically significant difference was found at the p<0.05 level in the intra-group comparison of back and leg strength. Statistically significant difference was found in the static balance in-group comparisons in Right-Left Average Swing velocity, Forward-Backward Average Swing velocity, Pressure center plot analysis, Swing Area values p<0.05. A statistically significant difference was found in Dynamic Balance Performance, Right Swing Area, Left Swing Area, Left Outer Swing Area, Left Swing Reaction Time, Left Swing Reaction Time values in dynamic balance in-group comparisons p<0.05. As a result, it can be said that dynamic warm-up exercises have a positive effect on jumping, balance and strength parameters in karate players.
