Examination of the Opinions of Students Studying in the Faculty of Sport Sciences towards Doping in Terms of Some Variables

Synopsis

In the research, it has been tried to reveal whether the knowledge levels, attitudes, connections, and thoughts between the students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences change depending on their age, gender, department, sports age and nationality. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 458 students, 179 women and 279 men, who were actively studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Mugla Sitki Kocman University. In the data collection tools, the Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale developed by Petroczi (2002) and adapted into Turkish by Yıldız (2017) was used. The scale consists of 17 items and is graded as 6-point Likert type. Considering the Cronbach Alpha value, the reliability coefficient of the "Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale" was found to be 0,94. To examine the problem, 49 national athletes participated in the research. In the findings of the research, it was found that there was a significant difference in attitude towards doping with gender, age, sport age, the department they studied and nationality category.
