Synopsis
Football and interval training methods are of great importance in increasing the performance of football players. Interval training involves combining high-intensity activities with low-intensity rest periods. These methods increase the aerobic capacity of football players, improve their anaerobic energy systems, increase endurance and improve in-game mobility skills. It increases the maximum oxygen uptake required for high-tempo play, allowing players to stay active for longer. It also helps them perform better in fast and explosive moves. Interval training also increases the stamina of players and prepares them for the often repeated acceleration/deceleration movements in matches. In the light of all this information, interval training methods in football are mentioned in the current section.
