Synopsis
Sport is an activity that requires not only physical strength but also balance skills. Balance is considered a fundamental element of sports performance and is an important factor affecting success in various sports. Balance is defined as the body's ability to maintain stability. Balance in sports emerges as the body's ability to stay in a stable state and be controlled. It is related to factors such as balance ability, muscle strength, flexibility, proprioception and coordination. Balance is important for athletes because having the right balance allows them to move faster, stronger and with more control. Balance skills in sports such as football, basketball, tennis, gymnastics increase the performance of players when hitting the ball, moving quickly or balancing in difficult positions. Balance tests help athletes evaluate their performance by measuring body control, stability and coordination. Balance tests used in many sports include various methods such as balance board test, star balance test, step balance test and bipedal stance test. The main purpose of these tests; to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the athletes, to identify the balance deficiencies and to create appropriate training programs. In this context, in the current section, the importance of balance and balance in sports and balance tests used in the field of sports sciences are given.
