Synopsis

In the context of the 2030 Agenda, which was set by the United Nations General Assembly, the approaching deadline and the increasing significance of the matter have led to a growing sensitivity among international organizations and countries regarding the attainment of sustainable development goals. Tourism, on a global scale, is a sector that not only holds economic importance but also wields significant social and environmental impact. Within this framework, tourism holds great potential for achieving sustainable development goals. It is essential that states, public institutions, civil society organizations, tourism associations, and enterprises participate in this issue, in addition to international organizations. In this study, starting from the concept of sustainable development, the effects of tourism practices and stakeholder participation on sustainable development will be presented with practical examples.
